About

Prof. Dr. Kültegin Ögel, Born in 1964 in Ankara. He completed his primary and secondary education at TED Ankara College and his university education at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine. In 1992, he became a psychiatry specialist at Bakırköy Mental and Nervous Diseases Hospital. After working as a psychiatrist in Sağmalcılar prison for two years, he started to work in the AMATEM Clinic of Bakırköy Mental and Nervous Diseases Hospital in 1995. In 2000, he was appointed in charge of the ÇEMATEM Clinic where adolescent substance addicts were treated. He is the founder of Yeniden Health and Education Association. He has received 6 awards for his work to date. Ögel, who is the father of one child, has published 9 books on substance abuse and addiction and 2 books on depression in addition to many articles in Turkey and abroad. He lectured at Boğaziçi University, Okan University and Acıbadem University, and served as the Head of the Department of Psychiatry at Acıbadem University Faculty of Medicine. He was a team leader in many projects carried out by the European Union, WHO and UNICEF. He worked as a consultant for various ministries. Currently Director of Private Moodist Hospital and a faculty member at Istanbul Kent University. He is one of the founders of Addiction Academy.
