Clinical Psychologist Ege Görgen completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at Sabancı University between 2018 and 2023, earning a place on the Dean’s Honor List for her academic achievements. During her undergraduate studies, she developed a clinical perspective that holistically addresses psychopathology, focusing on the impact of early life experiences on mental development. She completed her master’s degree in Applied Clinical Psychology at the University of Bath in the United Kingdom between 2023 and 2024, graduating with Merit.
In her master’s thesis, she examined the psychological effects of exposure to muscular and large-bodied representations on social media on body satisfaction and body image in men.
Ege Görgen, who continues her professional experience at Private Moodist Hospital, worked as an assistant psychologist between September 2024 and March 2025. During this period, she participated in clinical evaluation, psychoeducation, and follow-up studies, particularly in the AMATEM (Addiction Treatment Center) service; and played an active role in group therapies for impulsive gambling behaviors and addiction-based clinical processes.
Ege Görgen, who began working as a clinical psychologist at Moodist Hospital in July 2025, conducts clinical studies on bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, delusional thought patterns, and acute crisis cases. She is involved in risk assessment, crisis intervention, and clinical follow-up processes in a closed psychiatric ward.
Her clinical work is based on the Schema Therapy approach. She has received training in the theoretical foundation of Schema Therapy, focusing on the assessment of early maladaptive schemas and schema modes; and actively uses imagery and re-enactment, chair work, and other experiential techniques in her clinical practice. She also completed her training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy following the school of thought of Prof. Dr. Hakan Türkçapar.
Ege Görgen provides clinical services in the areas of anxiety and mood disorders, depression, anger and impulsivity, emotional regulation difficulties, attachment and relationship problems, dissociative symptoms, early childhood trauma, bipolar disorder, and psychotic symptoms.
