Yusuf Babacan graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology (English). During his undergraduate studies, he actively participated in various club activities. As an intern, he worked at the Refugee Association, the Trauma Laboratory of Istanbul City University, and various clinics. He graduated from Okan University’s Clinical Psychology Master’s Program with a thesis on addiction.
He completed his long-term internship at the Private Moodist Hospital’s inpatient psychiatry ward. Following his internship, he started working as the head psychologist at the AMATEM (Addiction Treatment Center) ward. During this time, he organized “Psycho-Educational Sessions for Families of Addicted Individuals.” Babacan also received training in Motivational Interviewing Techniques, Approach to Addiction, and Gambling Addiction from Prof. Dr. Kültegin Ögel and his team. He completed basic EMDR training, particularly in trauma therapy, from Emre Konuk. He completed supervision processes in EMDR and trauma from Prof. Dr. Önder Kavakçı. He received training and supervision in the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach. After a year at the AMATEM ward, he began seeing clients in the outpatient clinic. In addition to individual psychotherapy sessions, Clinical Psychologist Yusuf Babacan also conducts Gambling Group Therapy.
Babacan has participated in various studies and has also been a speaker at many symposiums. His areas of expertise include gambling addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorders, relationship problems, and alcohol and substance abuse.
